The Grilled Cheese Truck

My favorite type of street food…hmm. In the US I’d say it would have to be the grilled cheese sandwich I got from The Grilled Cheese Truck in LA. I happened to be visiting our Los Angeles branch during their Employee Appreciation day. Because of my impeccable timing I was able to take part in some of their festivities. I’m pretty sure I ended up getting the “Cheesy Mac and Rib”.  Rib meat and macaroni, how can you go wrong there!?

In China I think my favorite street food so far has been Dou Pi (豆皮). I had this the first time I went to China, my brother knew this place and said that we had to go their for breakfast one morning. I was not let down. It was a delicious hot breakfast, kind of like a crispy hash brown with a meat filling.

1. Achieve my weight loss goal. 20 pounds to go, and they’re the hardest yet.
2. Travel to some place I’ve never been (non-work related)
3. Attempt to buy a home.

Today’s prompt: What’s the minimum amount of sleep you can get by on?

That’s tough to answer because it can very greatly. Sometimes I can wake up three hours after going to sleep and feel rested, other times it feels like I can barely function on eight. I think is much better appreciated in a quality measure, over quantity.

I know it’s been a while since I wrote a “human based” post on here.

To the occasional GoogleBot that reads my posts, I apologize for keeping you hanging.

Life has been pretty grand.  2012 looks to be as good or better than 2011 and for that I’m pretty thankful.

As we come to a close of another year I wish you all a prosperous new year.  Prosperity not limited to the monetary sense, but in relationships, communication, and kindness.

I’ve met someone, someone who makes me smile even when he’s not around but even more when he is around.  He’s caring and considerate and has a fun quirky personality that I love being around.  We’ve been dating for just over a month now and the future looks great.  His name is Snapper, yep, it’s his real name.  He’s a farm boy from Iowa that ended up in my life thanks to King County Metro (he saw me on the bus).  We’re spending lots of time getting to know each other and it has been amazing.   This is a new chapter in my life, it’s a chapter that I’m excited to turn to the next page on, but don’t want to ever see end.

I’m a happy man, I’m experiencing a happiness that I didn’t even know I was secretly craving.

I need to post a TON of stuff that’s going on.  I moved to Ballard, I hit the milestone of now over 100 lbs lost, I’m a month from being in China.  Wow, there’s a ton going on and I need to document it all.  Hopefully I’ll be able to get it all posted this weekend.  Here’s to hoping!
